Kamala Harris’s runaway popularity has swept up even Donald Trump (78).

Since Joe Biden stepped aside and Harris stepped up, the campaign has been re-energised. She has been endorsed by all the cool people in the world and galvanised a massive fan base.

Such is her appeal, Trump, 78, has also been carried away on the Harris wave and begun campaigning for her. In a speech to the far-right Christian advocacy group Turning Point Action, he announced that if he became president he would abolish voting, and then confessed to the Christians that he was not a Christian.

Immediately on making the remarks there was a loud dinging noise as Harris’s popularity surged several points.

She’s going to make a great president, said Mr Trump, who is 78, cats or no cats.

Mr Trump, who is thought not to have given birth to any cats although he has grabbed a few in his time, is, at 78, the oldest person ever to have run for the highest office. He is also the first convicted felon and the first orange-coloured person to run for president. While many candidates have been considered a liability in their own campaign this may be the first time one has actually campaigned for the opposition.

Psipook has contacted the Trump campaign office to ask when he is going to officially endorse Harris.

Mr Trump is 78.
